The Akwesasne Library and Cultural Center is an outstanding resource for the Akwesasne community, and the general public, providing a library and museum celebrating the history, heritage, and culture of the Kanien’keha:ka, the Mohawk of Akwesasne. Here, view historic wampum belts, basketry, artwork, and artifacts that help enlighten and educate.

The gift shop features the talents of local Mohawk artists, including baskets of all sizes, dolls, jewelry, and many other gifts, as well as books on Kanien'keha:ka culture and life. 

How to get there from Tupper Lake

From Tupper Lake, follow Route 30 north until you reach Malone, NY (58 miles). Continue to follow Route 37 for another 25 miles. The destination will be on your right.
