Location:

The Tupper Lake History Museum: A place where our local past is at your fingertips.

As of 2024, the museum's new location (old location at the Train Station) has been extensively renovated, and includes in-depth permanent exhibits, with multiple rotating exhibits being showcased at different times. The museum features a range of exhibits that begin with Indigenous Mohawk artifacts, including a collection of arrowheads, and there are plans to add more from the Akwesasne Cultural Center. It highlights Tupper Lake's early history, including notable townspeople, the devastating 1899 fire, and the town's rebuilding efforts with images of the Klondike Saloon and William Flanders' store. Other exhibits showcase the lumber and logging industries, the Oval Wood Dish factory, and various artifacts like farming equipment, old cameras, and military uniforms. The museum also celebrates Tupper Lake's diverse heritage, with displays on immigrant history, local businesses, and quilting traditions.
