Saranac Lake 3P: Multi-Sport Charity Race Event

Prepare for an exhilarating multi-sport adventure at the Saranac Lake 3P (SL3P), a charity race event showcasing the incredible recreational venues in and around Saranac Lake. This community celebration of the unique frontcountry takes participants through mountains, rivers, and more, all under their own power on skis, bikes, and in boats.

Event Schedule:

Sunday before the race:

  • 5:00 PM: Volunteer Meeting

Friday before the race:

  • 5:00 PM: Pre-Race mandatory Safety Meeting and Bib pickup at Mt Pisgah

Race Day:

  • 7:30 AM: All transition zones open (Various locations)
  • 9:00 AM: Race starts at the base of Mt. Pisgah
  • 11:30 AM: After-Party starts at Mt. Pisgah lodge until 3:30 PM
  • TBD: Kids 3P race starts at Mt. Pisgah

Event Overview: The SL3P is a 6-leg multi-sport race event designed to highlight the local recreational wonders. Competitors compete solo or on teams through 6 race segments. Participants follow the spring snowmelt through mountains and rivers, showcasing their skills in skiing, biking, and boating. This annual charity event aims to support different local recreational-based interests benefiting area youth. This year, the event proudly supports Friends of Mt. Pisgah / Saranac Lake Ski Club, making a positive impact on the community.

The 3P is a multi-sport race with 6 race segments:

  1. Uphill ski or snowshoe followed by a Downhill/alpine ski – 0.75 mile, 275 ft vert
  2. Bike – 4.3 miles
  3. Cross-country ski (classic or skate) – 3.1 miles
  4. Bike – 1.4 miles
  5. Flatwater Paddle – 2.4 miles
  6. Run – 1.7 miles
