The Empire State Winter Games torch is coming through Tupper Lake on its way to the 2025 Opening Ceremonies

Join the excitement as the Empire State Winter Games (ESWG) Torch Relay makes its way through Tupper Lake on Thursday, January 30, 2025!

Torch Relay Details:

  • Start Location: Tupper Lake Civic Center, 31 Santa Clara Ave, Tupper Lake, NY.
  • Time: The relay begins with the Tupper Lake High School cross-country team and the mayor escorting the torch.
  • Route: The torch will travel from the Civic Center to Community Bank N.A., located at 75 Park Street, arriving around 3:30 p.m.

What to Expect:

  • Festivities at Community Bank: Warm up with hot chocolate and cookies and grab some exclusive ESWG swag.
  • Cheer Along the Route: Line the streets to show your support as the torch passes through Tupper Lake!

Opening Ceremony:

The 2025 Empire State Winter Games Opening Ceremony will take place on Thursday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m. in the 1980 Herb Brooks Area located in the Olympic Center in Lake Placid.

Athlete Village:

Located in the Main Municipal Lot on Main Street, next to the Olympic Center, the Athlete Village is the place to be for family fun! Enjoy hot chocolate, s’mores, sport activities, athlete interviews, a photo booth, and more!

  • Friday, January 31: 4-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, February 1: 12-7 p.m.
