"Seeking Beauty from Behind the Brush"

Tupper Arts is proud to showcase the serene and captivating works of Tarryl Gabel, an artist whose plein air paintings and wildlife depictions offer a window into the peaceful, natural world that inspires her. Tarryl, originally from a cattle ranch on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation in North Dakota, has spent over thirty years in the Hudson Valley, where she continues to paint the landscapes and wildlife that have shaped her life.

With a deep love for plein air painting, Tarryl brings the beauty of nature to life with each brushstroke. Whether painting outdoors at twilight to capture the soft light of sunrise, or creating still life and wildlife pieces indoors when the elements don’t cooperate, her work always reflects a sense of tranquility and reverence for the natural world. Tarryl’s paintings are consistently described as serene and calming, evoking an emotional connection with the viewer and allowing them to experience the peace she finds in her artistic process.

Tarryl’s impressive career includes multiple accolades, including five-time recognition as “Best Artist” by Hudson Valley Magazine, as well as awards from prestigious national competitions like Paint the Parks and Paint America Top 100. Her work is also featured in private and corporate collections across the nation and abroad. One of her most treasured honors is the “Worthy of the Met” award, given by judge David C. Levy at the renowned Plein Air Easton event.

Through her exhibit "Seeking Beauty from Behind the Brush," Tarryl invites you to immerse yourself in the landscape and wildlife that bring her such peace. Her goal is to inspire viewers to look more carefully at the world around them, sharing the beauty and serenity she experiences through her eyes and paintbrush.

Join us for an exhibition that will leave you feeling inspired and connected to the calming, peaceful essence of nature. Whether you're a longtime fan of Tarryl's work or discovering it for the first time, her paintings offer an invitation to pause, reflect, and appreciate the quiet beauty of the world.
