Little Tupper Lake is a local favorite, a beautiful spot for fishing, camping, paddling, and more. No motorboats are allowed.

Getting there

From Tupper, drive south on Route 30. After about 11 miles, turn right onto Sabattis Circle Road. Continue on this route until you reach the large, scenic waters of Little Tupper Lake.

Fishing

Shoreline fishing is limited to the headquarters area. Other shore fishing locations are available, but are only accessible by boat. Fish from a canoe or kayak for a solution!

While the trout population is not robust, there are some rather large brook trout that are unique to this lake only. Little Tupper Lake and Rock Pond have special regulations. The best fishing is in the spring, unless you're trolling in the deeper portions during the summer.

Camping

Facilities: Little Tupper Lake has 23 primitive campsites on the lake, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Paddling

This is one of the most attractive roadside lakes in the Adirondacks and its busy waters will prove to be evidence of that. Once on the water and heading south you have many opportunities for camping to extend your weekend, including shoreline camping and island camping. Be sure to check out the several small islands that dot the lake for additional fun and exploring.

Type of water: the lake is quite long and narrow but does get strong head winds that can make paddling a chore.
