Tupper Lake Welcomes ESWG Winter Bike & Sprint Triathlon 

The Empire State Winter Games (ESWG) is excited to add a Sprint Winter Triathlon to its sports portfolio. The ESWG is a community-driven event that celebrates athletes, winter, and the Adirondacks. The ESWG Sprint Winter Triathlon, the first event of its kind in upstate New York, will feature a 5k run - 10k winter bike - and 10k cross-country ski on the scenic trails of the Tupper Lake Golf Course. 

In addition to the 2nd annual Sprint Winter Triathlon, the James C. Frenette Recreation Trails will also host Winter Bike on Saturday, February 8, 2024. 

Sprint Triathlon Race Details:

• 5K Run 
• 10K Bike
• 10K Ski
• Team Relay

Winter Bike Race Details:

Only cross-country races will be held this year, but the new venue and groomed terrain allow us to run multiple race distance options and add more age categories. Put simply, whatever your ability level, you'll have fun and have a better chance to hoist some ESWG hardware.

The races will take place on a singular 1.4-mile loop (+123 ft / -115 ft elevation) with three distance options:

• Beginners & Kids - (1.4 miles)
• Intermediate -  (4.2 miles)
• Expert -  (7 miles) 

When:

Saturday, February 8, 2025

• The Winter Sprint Triathlon will begin at 9:30 a.m.
• Winter Bike time TBD
