Yup, you read that right — in winter we have beer waiting for you on the trails! On Saturday, February 23, a loop at the James C. Frenette Sr. Recreational Trails will once again transform into a mile-long brew fest. Appropriately named The Brew-Ski, this event is one for beer lovers and outdoor enthusiasts to get out and sample some new local brews on some awesome trails. Mark your calendar now as you'll want to come ski or shoe the Brew-Ski.
2. Who doesn't love free?
From the free groomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails at the Tupper Lake Golf Course to the outdoor rinks — and even The Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory — Tupper Lake is the home to some awesome free activities. Did you know that if you visit The Wild Center, your admission for the consecutive day is free. While there, be sure to take advantage of the complementary snowshoes available with your admission pass. Want more free stuff? Keep an eye out for free events and live music held throughout the winter.
3. No need to tune in for a traffic report
Ever wonder what the complete opposite of rush hour traffic is like? It's a thrilling snowmobile ride through some of the most scenic Adirondack backcountry around. Trust me, a traffic jam will be the last thing from your mind as you navigate your way through the snow-covered trees, past frozen lakes, and loop your way on to your next destination. And to make riding even sweeter, this summer new connector trails were constructed in Tupper Lake to allow easy access from trails to lodging, dining, and other amenities as you ride this winter.

The low moisture in the atmosphere on cool, crisp winter nights provides the best opportunity for stargazing. Where better to take advantage of it than in Tupper Lake? You can choose to stargaze at the The Adirondack Sky Center & Observatory's roll-off roof observatory the first and third Friday of every month, so come enjoy some spectacular night sky viewing.
