Tupper Lake is a scenic, wonderful town that's easy to get to, family-friendly, and the perfect spot for a road trip. Your journey here should be stress free; here's what you need to know to get here by car, plane, and train!

By car

From New York City and the Capital Region (from the south)

• The New York Thruway (I-90) and Interstate 87 make a trip north quick and easy! At exit 23, the ride to Tupper Lake is scenic, visiting towns including Long Lake and Blue Mountain Lake.

From Syracuse and Watertown (from the west)

• Take Route 3 east to Tupper Lake. Yup, it's really that easy!

From Ottawa, Ontario (from the north)

• The International Bridge linking Prescott, Ontario with Ogdensburg, New York gets visitors from Canada across the Saint Lawrence in a jiffy. From there, county highways offer a scenic ride!

From Burlington, Vermont and Plattsburgh, New York (from the east)

• Cross into New York via the Lake Champlain Ferry, then let Route 3's gentle curves guide you Tupper.

From Utica (from the southwest)

• This is a classic ride! Drive Route 28 through Adirondack towns including Old Forge, Inlet, and Raquette Lake. Enjoy the views!

Have an electric car?

No worries. We have four different locations in town with e-car charging stations. Check out the Faust Motel and Shaheen's Adirondack Inn, which both offer charging stations for Teslas and other electric cars. Charging locations are also available at The Wild Center and the Tupper Lake Municipal Park. 

By air

Fly into the Adirondack Regional Airport in Lake Clear. Cape Air runs multiple flights to major metropolitan areas. With three daily round trips to Boston Logan International Airport, and one daily round trip to NYC's JFK International Airport, getting here by air is easier than ever. When you touch down, there are multiple modes of transportation to make the 30-minute drive from the airport to Tupper Lake. 

Plattsburgh International Airport now welcomes Contour Airlines with service between Plattsburgh, NY, and Washington-Dulles, starting May 1. With round-trip, non-stop flights daily. Car rentals available in Plattsburgh.

By train

Travelers coming from the Utica region and points beyond can enjoy a classic, comfortable round-trip ride on the Adirondack Railroad. Regular passenger service ended in 1981 but we're excited to have it back! Let someone else do the driving, enjoy the historic ride, and arrive in Tupper refreshed and ready for adventure and exploration!
