An authentic Adirondack experience is not complete without spending some quality time on the trail, and Tupper Lake has a range of hiking options for adventurers of all ages and abilities. Discover scenic waterfalls on a rolling multi-use trail, climb to a mountaintop with amazing 360-degree panoramic views, and explore everything in-between. 

• Take an easy walk along the nature trails at The Wild Center, located right in Tupper Lake.

• Grab a bite to-go from one of Tupper Lake's many options for take-out and explore the continuously growing network of shared-use James C. Frenette Sr. recreational trails.

• Challenge yourself to the Tupper Lake Triad hiking challenge — three family-friendly peaks that boast stellar panoramic views of the Adirondacks. 

Hike safely during mud season

Spring in the Adirondacks gets messy, but being safe doesn't mean you can't get dirty! When it comes to spring hikes, think low, as in low elevation. Higher summits may still be snowy and/or icy, so keeping your hikes low means more fun for you, and a safer adventure. Don't forget your layers, too! It's best to be prepared changes in temperature and precipitation.
